Economic growth and unemployment

Do large nations prosper better in the economic growth race than small nations? Certainly not! Economic growth in Iceland and Norway in 1971 - 2000 was much faster than in France, Britain, Germany, Spain or Italy, and faster than in the EU nations or the USA. Eurostat estimates that, in February 2005, 12.8 million men and women were unemployed in the euro-zone and 19,1 million in the EU25 (the 25 EU-states).
Both euro-zone and the EU25 unemployment stood at 8.9%. In Germany and France the rates were 9.8, in Poland over 18. Year ago, February 2004, the situation in the EU25 was the same, 8.9%. The unemployment rate in the EU for under-25s was 18.8%.
